Hanley and the surrounding areas are great places to learn to drive. Although many of the roads are busy, there are quiet town routes. You’re also close to dual carriageways and country roads, and it’s easy to cover all aspects of the DSA’s learner syllabus without travelling far.
Where will I drive?
All of our driving instructors at Drive Ahead have a wealth of experience and knowledge of the Hanley area. Nearby areas have lots of quiet routes to get you familiar with the car, its controls, and the basics on the road. As your experience grows we’ll take you on busier roads around Hanley, Cobridge, Tunstall and beyond.
Hanley has a variety of large and small businesses which makes our traffic conditions very varied. From the school run in the morning, the busy town centre with lots of pedestrians, the large HGV’s travelling through the town, to the quieter, but fast moving country roads. Whatever time of day, there’s ample opportunities to improve your driving and increase your hazard perception awareness.
There’s then lots of areas where you’ll be able to practice your manoeuvres.
Which test centre will I use?
Hanley is very close to the Cobridge test centre, and almost every driving lesson you do will be on or near a route from the test centre. Your driving instructor will take you around the various test routes, and make you familiar with the local areas.
