Kidsgrove is a great place to learn to drive. From quiet town routes, to busy city roads, nearby dual carriageways and country roads, it’s easy to cover all aspects of the DSA’s learner syllabus without travelling far.
Where will I drive?
All of our driving instructors at Drive Ahead
have a wealth of experience and knowledge
of the Kidsgrove area. Nearby areas have
lots of quiet routes to get you familiar with the
car, its controls, and the basics on the road. As your experience grows we’ll take you on busier roads around Tunstall, Hanley, Cobridge and beyond.
Kidsgrove has a quiet town centre, with larger business on the outskirts. This makes traffic conditions very varied. From the school run in the morning, the town centre with lots of pedestrians, the large HGV’s travelling through the town, to the fast moving, busy dual carriageway. Whatever time of day, there’s ample opportunities to improve your driving and increase your hazard perception awareness.
There’s then lots of areas where you’ll be able to practice your manoeuvres.
Which test centre will I use?
From Kidsgrove we would normally advise you to take your test at the Cobridge driving test centre, although the Crewe and Newcastle test centres are not too far away. Your driving instructor will take you around the various test routes, and make you familiar with the local areas, and guide you as to which test centre they feel is most suited to you.
