Meir Park is a great place to learn to drive. From local quiet town routes, to nearby busy city roads, dual carriageways and country roads, it’s easy to cover all aspects of the DSA’s learner syllabus without travelling far.
Where will I drive?
All of our driving instructors at Drive Ahead have a
wealth of experience and knowledge of the Meir
Park area. Nearby areas have lots of quiet routes to
get you familiar with the car, its controls, and the
basics on the road. As your experience grows we’ll
take you on busier roads around Newcastle, Hanley and surrounding areas.
Meir Park has many quiet areas to get you started, and is within a short driving distance from the city centre to develop your driving further. From the school run in the morning, the nearby towns with lots of pedestrians, the large HGV’s travelling through the town, to the fast moving, busy dual carriageway.
Whatever time of day, there’s ample opportunities to improve your driving and increase your hazard perception awareness.
There’s then lots of areas where you’ll be able to practice your manoeuvres.
Which test centre will I use?
Meir Park is just a short drive away from the Newcastle and Cobridge test centres. Your driving instructor will take you around the various test routes, and make you familiar with the local areas, before guiding you towards the most suitable test centre.
