Newcastle is a great place to learn to drive. From quiet town routes, to busy city roads, to dual carriageways and country roads, it’s easy to cover all aspects of the DSA’s learner syllabus without travelling far.
Where will I drive?
All of our driving instructors at Drive Ahead have a wealth of experience and knowledge of the Newcastle area. Newcastle has lots of quiet routes to get you familiar with the car, its controls, and the basics on the road. As your experience grows we’ll take you on busier roads around the nearby areas of Trent Vale, Clayton, Stoke, and Wolstanton.
Newcastle has a variety of large and small businesses which makes our traffic conditions very varied. From the school run in the morning, the busy town centres with lots of pedestrians, the large HGV’s travelling through the town, to the quieter, but fast moving country roads. Whatever time of day, there’s ample opportunities to improve your driving and increase your hazard perception awareness.
There’s then lots of areas where you’ll be able to practice your manoeuvres.
Which test centre will I use?
The Newcastle test centre in Trent Vale is where most people from the Newcastle area will take their test, but depending on your exact location you may decide to go to the Cobridge test centre. Our driving instructors are familiar with all areas, and will guide you as they see necessary.
