Smallthorne is a great place to learn to drive. From local quiet town routes, to busy city roads, nearby dual carriageways and country roads, it’s easy to cover all aspects of the DSA’s learner syllabus without travelling far.
Where will I drive?
All of our driving instructors at Drive Ahead have a wealth of experience and knowledge of the Smallthorne area. Nearby areas have lots of quiet routes to get you familiar with the car, its controls, and the basics on the road. As your experience grows we’ll take you on busier roads around Tunstall, Hanley, Cobridge and beyond.
Although the Smallthorne area is very busy, there are many quieter areas nearby to get you started. From the school run in the morning, the town centre with lots of pedestrians, the large HGV’s travelling through the town, to the fast moving, busy dual carriageway. Whatever time of day, there’s ample opportunities to improve your driving and increase your hazard perception awareness.
There’s then lots of areas where you’ll be able to practice your manoeuvres.
Which test centre will I use?
Smallthorne is just minutes away from the Cobridge test centre, and many of the test routes pass through Smallthorne. Your driving instructor will take you around the various test routes, and make you familiar with the local areas, to get you fully prepared for your driving test.
